Bring your records to the conversation
Keep a local copy of your DICOM images, the original PDF report, and the questions you want to ask at your next appointment. Viewbox is a personal record organizer for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. It does not interpret scans or provide medical advice.
Before you buy
Viewbox opens single-frame uncompressed DICOM images and supported JPEG-compressed DICOM images. JPEG 2000, JPEG Lossless, JPEG-LS, and multi-frame images are not supported. Ask your imaging provider for a compatible DICOM export. A hospital CD may need to be copied to a computer or external drive first. Viewbox cannot unlock hospital portals or encrypted archives.
Open a study
Use Import to choose DICOM files, a folder, or a ZIP archive in the system file picker. Extensionless DICOM files are accepted. Imported copies stay in the app. Keep your original files somewhere safe: the Viewbox library is excluded from backups and does not sync between devices.
Prepare for your appointment
Open a study, attach the original PDF report, and save your own notes. You might write: "Which images should I bring to the next visit?" or "Where can I get a copy of the earlier study?" Bookmarks let you return to a particular image. Notes are personal reminders, not a clinical record or interpretation.
Give someone a copy
Prepare an archive from the study and choose whether to include your notes and report. The system share sheet lets you choose an available destination, such as AirDrop. Original DICOM files can contain identifying information in both tags and images. Shared copies cannot be recalled, and the recipient needs a compatible viewer. Viewbox does not host your records or create public sharing links.
A tool for your records
Use your imaging provider's report and speak with your healthcare professional about what the images mean. Viewbox is not intended for diagnosis, treatment decisions, emergency use, or replacing a clinical imaging system.

For import or app problems, email dev@nantestudio.com with your device, OS version, and what happened. Please do not send medical images, reports, patient names, or other health information. If you can, include only the transfer-syntax identifier and the error message. We do not need your records to start investigating.
