Viewbox Privacy Policy

Viewbox is provided by Nante Studio. This policy covers the iPhone, iPad, and Mac app, bundle ID com.nantestudio.viewbox.
Your records stay on your device
Viewbox does not collect or upload your medical images, reports, notes, identifiers, or usage data to Nante Studio. The app has no account, analytics, advertising, crash-reporting SDK, or app-operated cloud service. Image processing and file organization happen locally.
Files you choose
The system picker grants access to the files and folders you select. Viewbox stores imported copies, thumbnails, study details, bookmarks, notes, and attached reports in its local application storage. It does not change your source DICOM files.
Storage and deletion
The local library and prepared sharing archives are excluded from backups. The app does not use iCloud or CloudKit for storage or synchronization. On iPhone and iPad, saved records use the system's complete file-protection setting. On Mac, access is limited by the app sandbox and file permissions; disk encryption depends on your Mac settings. Deleting a study removes its app-library copy. Your source files and copies exported elsewhere remain until you delete them separately. Keep the originals: Viewbox cannot restore a lost library.
Sharing is your choice
Only when you request sharing does Viewbox create a local ZIP archive and offer it to the system share sheet. Notes and reports are optional additions. Original DICOM files may contain identifying information in metadata and image pixels; Viewbox does not anonymize them. Nante Studio does not receive the archive or control the destination you choose. The recipient or chosen service handles it under its own policies, and shared copies cannot be recalled. Temporary archives expire after 24 hours and are removed the next time Viewbox runs.
Device authentication
If you enable the app lock, Apple's LocalAuthentication framework checks device authentication. Viewbox does not receive or store Face ID or Touch ID biometric data. OS security and backup settings outside the app remain under your control.
Purchases and support
Apple processes App Store purchases under its own policies. If you email support, Nante Studio receives the email address and information you choose to send so we can respond. Please do not send health records or patient information. Contact dev@nantestudio.com to request deletion of support correspondence, subject to any applicable record-retention obligations.
